A late technical foul charged the LSU striker Trendon Watford led to an explosion of the head coach Will Wade on the officials with 18 seconds to play in Saturday’s 85-80 victory over South Carolina at Baton Rouge. Nor did Wade finish with the referees after the game, giving them a piece of his mind in the video below.
The foul, considered questionable by both sides of the dispute, was not something that Wade wanted to do after the game.
“I will not comment on the second half. If you want to know what I think, I would be fined,” Wade told reporters on his post-game call about Zoom. “I’m not going to say anything about it. I’ve never seen it before in all my years of coaching. I’ve never seen it in my life. First time for everything.”

Watford was on the home stretch with freshman Cam Thomas from the free throw line.
“Trendon did a great job all night. They were collapsing on him. He did a good job of finishing,” said Wade. “He did a great job on the free throw line. Nine out of ten on the free throw line. He was really good. You have to play with your hot hand. So Cam (Thomas) was able to make plays in stretching the screens. ball with Trendon too. It was a team effort. We managed to play through Trendon on the pole. That’s where the incompatibilities were. That’s where we managed to make things happen. “
