The transformation of this sheep is unbearable.
A fluffy and dysfunctional sheep in a forest outside Melbourne, Australia, has been overcome by scissors amount of wool on your body. But the monstrous hairball – nicknamed Baarack – was saved from its woolly situation when the rescue scraped its heavy load, which weighed more than 77 pounds.
Baarack was recently discovered by a random animal lover, who alerted Edgar’s Mission Farm Sanctuary about 37 miles north of Melbourne. According to Reuters, the group went to work and gave the flocculent boy what was clearly his first shave in years.
“The sheep need to be shorn at least once a year – otherwise, the wool continues to grow and grow, as it did here,” said sanctuary representative Kyle Behrend. He added that Baarack once had an owner and was tagged, but the tag was at some point “torn off by the thick, tangled wool around his face.”
The wildlife was not so bad for Baarack’s body, however.
“Their hooves were in a great condition to run over the rocks in the forest,” said Behrend. However, he added, the sheep “were still a little bad. He was underweight and, due to all the wool around his face, he could barely see. “
Baarack is making the transition to his new shorn life, reportedly settling next to other sheep rescued on Edgar’s mission. His ability to remain so debilitatingly covered in wool for so long, said Behrend, is ultimately a testament to his species’ resilience.
“Everything is going to show how sheep are incredibly tough and courageous animals,” he said. “We couldn’t love them more if we tried.”
