Why you won’t see the 2021 Super Bowl ads from Budweiser, Coca and Pepsi

American companies are taking unprecedented action in these unprecedented times.

As the coronavirus pandemic progresses, several companies have decided not to run commercials during the 2021 Super Bowl.

On Monday, January 25, Anheuser-Busch, owner of Budweiser, revealed that it will break tradition during the February 7 game. Instead, the company will donate any costs that may have been spent to make a commercial to the Ad Council, an organization that makes public announcements.

This year, the Ad Council is focusing its efforts on encouraging people to practice social detachment and to consider receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

According Variety, this is the first time in 37 years that Budweiser has not run an ad on Super Bowl Sunday.

While Budweiser’s Clydesdale horses remain in their stalls, other Anheuser-Busch brands, Michelob Ultra, Bud Light, Stella Artois and Cutwater Spirits, will be announced.
