At the premiere of “The Bachelor” on Monday night, two contestants showed up to find 25th season leader Matt James wearing exactly the same red dress – but it was probably not a coincidence.
Former franchise student Demi Burnett, who made her debut in Colton Underwood’s season of “The Bachelor” in 2019, recently started talking about how the series’ producers induce contestants into moments of accidental twinning.
“In my season, Heather [Martin] and this girl, Laura, they wore the same dress, ”explained the 25-year-old on the Us Weekly podcast“ Here for the right reasons ”.
“The producers say which of the dresses they think you should wear, so they probably wanted to touch something.”
This scheme can backfire, however. “Heather and the girl Laura looked at each other and were like, ‘My God, we’re wearing the same dress, this is amazing!’ They’re like, ‘You look amazing in it,’ ”Burnett continued.
“So, it wasn’t a big deal and I think it happened this time too.”
During Monday’s premiere, Alana Milne and Anna Redman began their search for love by wearing Nookie’s “Viva” dress ($ 269), which features a conformed body cut, convertible straps and a subtle mermaid silhouette.
Burnett described the suitcases for “The Bachelor” season as “a nightmare”.
“Well, I was poor before, I had no money,” she said. “So I spent my last paycheck and just bought a bunch of dresses for sale at Dillard’s. That’s where I bought all my pink ceremony dresses and cocktail dresses and swimsuits and stuff. “
Burnett’s parents contributed to an especially special look.
“In my evening dress, I was talking to my parents and I thought, ‘I really need a good dress for this. It’s like a great time. ‘They said,’ OK, let’s go buy your dress for one night, ‘”she recalled.
“My parents bought me a dress. I guarantee that the parents of those girls bought dresses for them. “
