There hasn’t been a lack of accumulated media drama since the end of the 2020 NFL season, when it comes to Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. Reports emerged at the beginning of the off-season that the greatest defender in the franchise’s history was dissatisfied with the style of play preferred by coach Pete Carroll and that, although he did not require an exchange, he was open to an exchange for a specific set of teams .
Whether it is all drama accumulated in the off-season because of unhappiness, or if there is really fire that is causing the smoke, no one knows until now. However, a report from Thursday indicates that no matter how likely it is that Wilson will be below the center for week 1 of the 2021 season, the Hawks are at least willing to listen when other teams call.
I was told that the Seahawks are not “buying” Russell Wilson, but calls made by other teams asking have been answered. https://t.co/NjQAydY012

Therefore, the Seahawks are not actively looking to unload the only quarterback in the franchise’s history that really led the team to victory in the Super Bowl, but if the right exchange package gets to your table, they are apparently willing to listen. This idea, of course, leads directly to the question of exactly what it means to want to hear, but at the end of the day, if they are willing to listen, it means that the possibility, no matter how small, exists, they would negotiate with their quarterback.
If this is simply the team following its natural course of action, at least exploring all possible options when it comes to potentially improving the list, or if it represents a change in strategy to the point where the team is really considering moving from Wilson, can be debated until everyone has a blue face. However, what is known is that no one will know anything until something really happens, and at the moment there is a lot of conversation and no real news besides reports that John Schneider did not hang up on other teams when they called.
