Why Matt Patricia’s return to the Patriots should not stop Matthew Stafford from New England

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford reportedly be available in this off season should attract the attention of several teams, possibly including the New England Patriots.

After all, the Patriots need an upgrade in the quarterback after a 2020 season, during which Cam Newton and Jarrett Stidham struggled to achieve consistent success in the position.

If the Patriots are interested in Stafford, they will not have to go far to obtain a report of recognition on the veteran quarterback.

The Patriots reportedly brought Matt Patricia back to Foxboro after he spent the past two seasons as a Lions coach. The Lions did not make the playoffs once under Patricia, and he was fired in November after a 4-7 start in the 2020 campaign.

Should Patricia’s return prevent Stafford from the Patriots? Detroit News’ Justin Rogers recently discussed this topic and others with our Patriots insider Tom E. Curran. Check out the video above to see Rogers’ take.
