Why isn’t the 13th season of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’, Episode 9, airing this week? Here’s what to expect from the Covid-19 docu

If you are a veteran ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ fan, you know for sure that the point of making or breaking the competition is none other than the Snatch Game. Usually the mid-season scorer, this challenge separates the winners from the queens. If you were waiting for episode 9 to see which characters from the Snatch Game the queens of season 13 will pull out of their backpacks, you may have to wait a little longer. This week, there is a change in the regular schedule of the show.

Although there may not be an episode, there is something special about the store. Filming an entire season in the middle of a pandemic is no easy task and ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ is not exactly a small production either. Between ensuring the safety of queens and the entire crew, ensuring that season 13 was filmed and produced was a major challenge in itself.

However, the cast and crew managed to deliver a fabulous (albeit long) season. To see how they did it, tune in to ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: Corona can’t keep a good queen down’, a documentary about how the team filmed this season. It will air on February 26 at 8/7 C on VH1.

In the trailer, we see queens and staff working on production, wearing masks and face shields and maintaining Covid-19 security protocols. “They were doing everything in their power to ensure that COVID did not reign in this parade,” Utica Queen heard in the trailer to the producers. Each of the queens talks about their shooting experience in such conditions and how they all survived.

It is speculated that showing this documentary in the middle of the season is a way to save more time for the show until the end, since the finals of ‘RDPR’ are always filmed live. The end of last year came virtually, thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic. Apparently, the show is trying to avoid another virtual ending. However, there is no confirmation as to what the end result could be. It looks like we will have to wait a while before we find out who America’s next drag star is.
