Halsey’s Instagram feed was full of sunshine and rainbows on Wednesday, when the pop star announced she was pregnant again after suffering a miscarriage years ago.
Hitmaker “Bad at Love” appropriately wore a cut-out rainbow mesh top for her last photo shoot, revealing her baby belly and probably alluding to the concept of a “rainbow baby”.
According to Healthline, that term refers to “a healthy child born after losing a baby due to spontaneous abortion, loss of baby, stillbirth or neonatal death”. The goal is to evoke the image of a rainbow that appears after a dark or stormy period.
“Surprise!” Halsey captioned the photos, along with emojis of a baby bottle, rainbow and angelic baby.
About her growing belly, the singer labeled her boyfriend, screenwriter and producer Alev Aydin, who commented: “Heart so full, I love you, sweetness”. Halsey then answered, “I love you !!!!! And I already love this mini human.”
According to People magazine, Halsey, 26, and Aydin, 37, have been dating for several months, and the first kept their relationship private.
Halsey’s pregnancy announcement comes after she miscarried during a performance in 2015. Appearing on the daytime talk show “The Doctors” in 2018, the Grammy nominee reported on the traumatic experience while discussing her ongoing battle with endometriosis – a condition of health that affects the uterus.
The artist “Maniac” was diagnosed with endometriosis shortly before discovering that she was pregnant during the tour.
