An independent panel of vaccine experts has revised data from Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine and will make public its recommendations on vaccine use next Tuesday, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday.
In a press release on the coming week, WHO said late on Friday: “The Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) on Immunization will make public its provisional recommendations to WHO on the use of the Modern vaccine COVID-19 (mRNA) -1273). The recommendations were agreed at the extraordinary meeting of SAGE held on January 21 (Thursday). “
Mariangela Simão, WHO assistant director-general for access to medicines, vaccines and drugs, speaking at a WHO social media event on Wednesday, noted that SAGE experts issued recommendations for the use of the Pfizer vaccine in early January . “It is already meeting for another vaccine soon,” said Simão.
