White box truck playing audio “similar” to Nashville blast RV closes Tennessee highway

Police in Rutherford and Wilson Counties, Tennessee, are investigating a white truck parked outside a local convenience store, playing audio “similar to what was heard before the Christmas Day explosion in Nashville.”

According to a statement by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a call around 10:30 am about the truck, which was parked at Crossroads Market on Walter Hill.

Police said police officers located the truck, which had traveled from Rutherford County to Wilson County, and made a stop in traffic. The driver was arrested by the police.

Wilson County Police closed Highway 231 South from Cedars of Lebanon State Park to Richmond Shop Road due to the suspicious vehicle.

As a precaution, nearby residents were also evacuated from the active site. An investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol is underway.

Police ask residents to avoid the area and look for alternative routes.
