While the price of Bitcoin falls in value, crypto assets like Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash Shine

Bitcoin’s price fell on Sunday, losing more than 6% over the past 24 hours, but a myriad of other currencies have made significant gains in contrast. Cryptocurrencies like bitcoin cash, ethereum and monero have increased in value, while bitcoin has had a decent drop.

  • Bitcoin (BTC) fell to $ 37,194 on Sunday, January 10, 2021, after reaching its peak a day and a half earlier. Currently, BTC has dropped more than 6.4% and is trading at $ 38,239 per unit during Sunday afternoon (EST) trading sessions.
  • On Saturday and Sunday, while BTC was consolidating, ethereum (ETH) jumped to a price hike of $ 1,340 per currency in 2021. ETH is still above 4% today and is trading for $ 1,285 per token on Sunday.

  • Another cryptocurrency that has made significant gains this weekend is bitcoin cash (BCH), which has risen 14% today. However, yesterday the BCH rose more than 30% and traded at a 2021 high of $ 625 per unit. Bitcoin cash (BCH) is currently trading for $ 612 per currency and has a market cap of around $ 11.2 billion.
  • Litecoin (LTC) did very well on Saturday as well, reaching $ 185 per unit and today the currency is being exchanged for 170 for LTC. The crypto asset LTC fell just 1% in the last 24 hours and commands a market capitalization of around $ 11.3 billion on Sunday.

  • Another strong runner this weekend in terms of earnings is the monero market assessment (XMR). The XMR jumped to $ 174 per currency and the crypto asset is still above 18% on Sunday. Data from markets.Bitcoin.com shows that the overall market valuation for monero is only $ 3 billion today.

  • The top five winners on Sunday saw gains between 40% to 91% and include currencies like stakenet, bitcoin diamond, ethereum classic, ultrain and horizen. The biggest losers on Sunday include appcoins, nexus, navcoin, everex and golem, as assets lost between -19% to -30% in value today.

  • After the all-time high for the BTC pushed the Bitcoin Dominance Index (BDI) to 70% recently, recent peaks in the value of other currencies have lowered the BDI to 68%.
  • At the time of publication, the entire market cryptography economy was still valued at over 1.03 trillion US dollars. The general market capitalization is still above 7%, despite the losses that BTC has had during the last 24 hours.
  • ** Update: Since this post was published at 2:46 pm (EST), the price of bitcoin (BTC) has dropped to a low of $ 34,322 per unit. At 3:33 pm, the price is hovering around $ 36,660 per currency. The rest of the crypto-economy also saw some decent percentage losses after the BTC fell below the $ 35,000 range on Sunday.
