UPDATE:According to a Signal tweet, the messaging app is working again. But users may have missed messages from their contacts. Signal’s tweet read: “As an unfortunate side effect of this interruption, users may see errors in some of your chats. This * does * not * affect the security of your chat, but you may have missed a message from that contact. . The next updates to the Signal app will fix this automatically. ”
Until this update arrives, you can receive messages lost during the outage by following the Signal instructions: “On Android, if you see ‘Incorrect encrypted message’, tap the menu in the upper right corner and tap ‘Reset secure session’. iOS, tap the ‘Reset session’ button below ‘The message received was out of sync’. The errors do not affect the security of the chat and will be automatically fixed when the next app update is made. “

WhatsApp users have until February 8 to accept the revised Messaging Terms of Service that give Facebook control over the data you generate and generate when using WhatsApp. If you decide not to accept the new ToS, you will end up losing access to your WhatsApp account. Many WhatsApp users have no intention or desire to share their personal data with Facebook or their subsidies and have therefore decided to use Signal.
Signal offers end-to-end encryption, group calls and chats, and the ability to send text, GIFs, audio and video files. The messages can be configured to disappear. The photos can be edited and you can add text to the photos you are uploading through the application. Just about everything you were using WhatsApp can do with Signal and Signal promotes user privacy. The application is free and has donations from users to assist in its continuous development.
The signal has dropped in the past two days
If you recently installed Signal and opened an account, you may have chosen a bad time to do so. According to DownDetector.com, the app has been down for the past two days. The number of DownDetector.com users reporting a problem peaked at 1,072 on Friday night. Although that number has dropped steadily over the course of today, Signal’s own status website (status.signal.org) says there are still problems with the messaging app. The status website has a big red “X” at the top of the page, which should immediately report that something is wrong. And if that red “X” doesn’t catch your eye, the words below it should. They say, “Signal is experiencing technical difficulties. We are working hard to restore service as quickly as possible.”
The signal remains low for the second consecutive day
