For the first time since they stepped down from their duties as members of senior royalty, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will participate in the high-level televised event produced by CBS.
Where was the interview filmed?
After teaser clips of the interview were released in February, viewers assumed that Harry and Meghan had filmed the conversation at Winfrey’s house, as she does not live far away from the couple.
Others suspected that the serene setting meant that the interview was actually filmed at Harry and Meghan’s $ 10 million mansion in Santa Barbara, California.
However, the Daily mirror confirmed that the interview was filmed in the huge Californian mansion of CBS journalist and Winfrey’s close friend Gayle King.
The journalist’s house is isolated in all points by plants and vegetation, giving the couple the privacy they so much wanted for the interview.
In photos of the interior of his home, King presents several works of art and sculptures alongside flower arrangements, with touches of color with green doors and ceiling.
Although King did not confirm the report, she revealed to CBS ‘This morning after weeks of speculation that the interview was not filmed at the couple’s residence, but “recorded at a friend’s house”.
King added: “People said it was at Oprah’s or Harry and Meghan’s, [but] it was at a friend’s house. “
The journalist also said that Winfrey believes the interview is the “best” thing she has ever done, adding: “She said it wasn’t just her, it was because the conversation was apparently so frank with the three.”
Since images of Harry and Meghan’s conversation were released last month, people have been admiring the surroundings of the interview, while the couple is filmed sitting in the sun with a beautiful manicured garden behind them.
The two-hour interview will air on Sunday, March 7, on CBS, before being broadcast on ITV in the United Kingdom on Monday, March 8.
The interview, which has been described by the United States network as an “intimate conversation”, is said to cover “broad” topics, with the expectation of Harry saying that he has departed from real duties because he feared “history repeating itself” after death of his mother, Princess Diana.
The conversation is said to cover several other subjects, such as royalty, marriage, parenting and how to deal with life under intense public pressure.
