Along with the launch of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser Fury, Nintendo announced a new edition of the Switch to launch February 12, 2021. As you can see above, the Nintendo Switch – Mario Red & Blue Edition features a two-tone color scheme reminiscent of the work clothes characteristic of the plumber’s mascot.
Contained in this new Switch package are all the standard gubbins you get with a new Switch console and some extras as well. Besides a red switch and snap, more a red pair of Joy-Con with blue handles (well, the handles themselves are red and white with a small yellow button) and a blue Joy-Con handle, you will also have a Suitcase Mario Red & Blue Edition (with a small yellow zipper) and a screen saver to keep your new console in top condition.
It’s an attractive design and it’s the first time that the regular switch itself (not just the dock) is available in anything other than flat black. If this new painting proves to be at least half the popularity of the special edition Animal Crossing: New Horizons Swap, they will likely disappear from the shelves quickly.
