Where to buy Illustrated edition of The Lord of the Rings

Lord of the Rings is one of the largest book series ever created, and a new hardcover illustrated edition of Lord of the Rings will be released on October 19, 2021. The new edition includes illustrations by author JRR Tolkien, for the first time in any edition of the series since 1954.

The 1954 edition features only two illustrations by Tolkien, but this latest illustrated version of the Lord of the Rings has “30 other sketches, illustrations and maps.”

Tolkien’s art has appeared in print before, most notably the hardcover “Images by JRR Tolkien” first published in 1979, the book itself a collection of illustrations printed in “a series of calendars” printed in the early 1970s.

It’s a good time to be a fan of the Lord of the Rings. The next Gollum game “puts the spotlight on an unlikely hero” and appears to be another solid entry into the pantheon of The Lord of the Rings games.
