Where Michigan ranks in COVID-19 vaccinations, two months after the first dose

Michigan has been distributing and administering COVID-19 vaccines for nearly two months – and the pace is accelerating.

Since December 14, when Michigan administered its first doses of COVID-19 to frontline workers at the University of Michigan, the state reported more than 1.4 million doses of weapons as of February 11. The state also reported more than 2 million doses distributed.

The quota for vaccines was divided between Pfizer and Moderna, with a little more doses of Moderna being distributed in the state as of this week.

Michigan ranks 8th among American states in total shots fired and 10th in distribution, according to data from the New York Times.

Currently, about 10% of Michigan’s population has received at least one dose of vaccine. Only 4% received two doses, but of course, this occurs weeks after the first dose. Only Alaska, New Mexico and West Virginia are over 12% for the first dose.

Michigan also ranks 11th among US states in used doses, with 74%, as of February 11th.

The USA has an average of about 1.6 million doses administered per day.
