During a virtual meeting on Friday afternoon in Downing Street, Boris Johnson held private conversations with bereaved families who lost loved ones during the coronavirus pandemic.
In welcoming the meeting, the Covid-19 Group of Families mourning for Justice – representing 2,500 people – said it was “not only painful, but very shameful” that the Prime Minister refused six times to meet with the organization.
Established in the first months of the crisis, group members have repeatedly pressed No. 10 to launch a public inquiry into how the government is dealing with the pandemic. “We, family members and the country, deserve answers,” they say.
