What’s in the Apex Legends Season 8 Battle Pass? All layers, rewards, free items

Apex Legends Season 8: Mayhem update will be released on February 2, and there are many changes to the patch. Check the full Respawn patch notes.

Obviously, the main changes are the addition of the new Legend, Fuse, which comes from Salvo, as well as the new weapon – the 30-30 repeater.

Kings Canyon has also changed enormously, as Fuse’s entry into the Apex games was not smooth and his old friend Maggie invaded the party – literally.

But, the most exciting part of the patch notes themselves is how Respawn adjusted the various Legends with nerfs and buffs, in addition to some changes in the quality of life. Check the Respawn notes below.

Apex Legends Season 8 Mayhem Patch notes

NEW LEGEND: FUSE

Meet Fuse: a mercenary fighter turned into a cage who never refuses good dust. Your affinity for explosions allows you to load extra grenades and throw them faster and farther. He can drop a cluster bomb with explosive explosives. And when it’s time to actually bring the explosion up, Fuse uses “Wally” to launch a bombardment that surrounds an area in a ring of flame.

Liabilities – Grenadier

Stack an extra grenade per inventory slot. Fire grenades farther, faster and more accurately.

Tactical – Knuckle Cluster

Launch a cluster bomb that continuously expels explosive air blasts on impact.

Ultimate – The Motherlode

Launch a bombardment that surrounds a target area in a wall of flame.

NEW WEAPON: 30-30 REPEATER

This heavy ammo lever action repeater has blunt shots that will hit a fleeing Mirage at 200 steps.

The 30-30 is the benchmark for reliability, designed to withstand sandstorms and weather instability, making it an obvious choice for the Apex Games.

DISCIPLINED FINGER TRIGGER

The 30-30 Repeater requires the user to recap the shots between shots, which brings a methodical rhythm to the rifle, an analog elegance that modern weapons from the Outlanders simply cannot capture.

To further try those itchy trigger fingers, the 30-30 Repeater has a built-in charge that gives players the opportunity to deal more damage with each shot at the cost of a short buildup.

The 30-30 reloads one round at a time, which makes resource management very interesting that you won’t find anywhere else, even on the Mastiff.

The 30-30 engagement range offers unique opportunities to reload individual rounds between shots. This gives the Repeater the ability to establish consistently accurate range pressure, something that weapons with full reloads can sometimes struggle with.

KINGS CANYON MAP UPDATE

Season 8 again sees changes in Kings Canyon. The main new point of interest shows the devastation of the ship colliding with the map. Players can now explore beyond artillery, Spotted Lakes takes over the slums and some new observation towers for basic reconnaissance or a sniper nest.

Read more about the map changes here.

LEGENDARY MAGAZINES

Season 8 features Gold magazines. Attaching it to a weapon automatically reloads your stored weapons after a brief delay. Gold magazine has the same capacity as purple magazines and is available for light, heavy weapons, snipers and energy.

QUALITY OF LIFE UPDATES

Damage counter

  • We now add a damage counter to the HUD. This was a highly requested feature, so we’re excited to allow people to track more easily to pursue these badges and challenges!

Dripping ammunition

  • Dripping weapons or ammunition into your inventory displays your current ammunition count along with “player wants ammo” in the quick chat.

Colorblind update

  • Healing and revival will now follow color blind rules when color blind settings are enabled

Lore Blurbs on Canon Skins

  • Some of our skins are canonical and others are just for fun. For skins that represent an important part of the character’s background story, we have added a short synopsis to describe the meaning of this skin in the life of the Legend.

LEGEND GOAL

Wraith:

Developer note:

We know that Wraith will always be a popular choice, considering the amount of combat usefulness in his kit. After many adjustments to his skills and animations, the fact remains that his winning rate remains at the top, as it has been since day one. With the season 7 hitbox settings on Pathfinder, we were able to control its power without nerfying its kit. We hope to do the same with Wraith.

Wraith now has a slightly larger hitbox than his other little legends, but the changes remain true to his model. As you can see in the comparison before and after, we are adding some width mainly in the areas of the trunk and legs:

Even with these changes, Wraith remains small and difficult to achieve. It will keep the Profile Low as we monitor its usage and gain rates to see if the energy can be returned in other ways in the future.

Rampart:

  • Increasing the angle of Sheila from 120 ° to 180 °
  • The health of the wall in the construction phase increased from 1 HP to 45 HP (sniper shots still pierce)

Developer note:

Rampart has remained at the bottom of our performance metrics since its launch. Her kit is very developed around the proactive configuration of a powerful position, but in a game as fast as the Apex, we determined that your walls should have some reactive power as well. We are keeping a close eye on this one.

Horizon:

  • Gravity Lift’s effective cooldown increased from 21s to 25s. The 15s cooling timer will now start when the Gravity Lift disappears.

Developer note:

Horizon launched strong, to the point of rivaling Wraith in victory rate and choice rate. For now, we are monitoring its use and checking whether the cooling changes have a significant effect or not.

Octane:

Launch Pad Remastered: Many players should know about Octane’s “super jump” that was possible with a well synchronized jump while hitting the pad. After the double jump option was introduced, there was an entry conflict that led to unreliable use. We decided to add some launch options that are better defined than the old super jump.

  • Hitting the jump block from a standing position will launch players along a high arc (the speed and trajectory of the old super jump).
  • From a crouched position, players will launch over a low arc, meaning that they will fly lower, but farther in the horizontal direction.

Cryptography:

  • Remove the ability to glue bow stars to friendly drones

Wolf:

  • Loot within closed maintenance packages is now visible with Eye for Quality and accessible through the Black Market Boutique.

Caustic:

  • All gas will now dissipate as soon as the Caustics team is eliminated.

Mirage:

  • Mirage baits create step sounds.

Developer note:

This change was wrongly mentioned in the notes for the Fight Night patch when it was actually coming with this patch. Mirage baits will now have step audio in a limited capacity. There won’t be a tornado of steps if an enemy Mirage comes around, but it must be a little more difficult to identify the real Mirage with just the audio tracks.

Ranked Match

A new Classified Series will begin at the beginning of Season 8: Classified Series 7. The first division will take place in Kings Canyon and will run until March 23. The second division will be at Olympus. No advantage in the classified game world.

The complete changes to the ranked game can be seen here.

  • Earn RP placement at the start of a match
    • PR rewards start at position 13 instead of 10 in a match.
  • Kill / Assist count increased to 6
    • Earn RP for more of your kills and assists in a given match.
    • This is a little nudge to give really good players a slightly faster trip back to their competitive rankings, while giving our top players more ways to stay ahead of the pack in Predator rankings.
  • Assistance limit increased to 10 seconds
    • Gain assists for up to 10 seconds (from 7.5 seconds) after dealing damage to a target killed by someone else.
  • Predator has been increased to the top 750 players
    • Allowing more players to enter the predator should improve queuing times while remaining at a level exclusive to the highest levels of play.
  • Matchmaking grip
    • Players below Diamond will play matches much more often in their own rankings.
  • Skydive Trails return
    • In season 8, Diamond Skydive Trails will be making a comeback as a classified reward.
