Early Friday night, parts of Utah saw a snowstorm – a short but extremely intense period of snow. They usually last an hour or less and can create dangerous conditions very quickly. They can cause danger for drivers, as temperatures in rapid fall have created icy roads and the combination of snow and wind creates fading conditions.

The Snowstorm Warning – a new category from the National Weather Service – has now expired. Experts warn never to drive when one is in place.
