No. 9 Georgia is set to face South Carolina at 7:30 ET in Columbia, broadcast on the SEC Network.

South Carolina (2-6) led by former UGA quarterback Mike Bobo as an interim coach is coming out of a 17-10 loss in Missouri last week.

Freshman quarterback Luke Doty replaced Senior Collyn Hill in the second half and is now set to start his first game as a Gamecock against the Bulldogs.

On the other hand, Georgia is coming off an excellent offensive performance in the 31-24 victory against the State of Mississippi on Saturday, when the transfer from the USC made its first start in the center as a Bulldog and went through 401 yards and four touchdowns.

Here’s what the South Carolina media is saying about Georgia before tonight’s game.

By John Whittle – 247Sports

“Will Muschamp and Kirby Smart are friends and we all know how it ended last year. Mike Bobo and Kirby Smart are best friends, but no love will be lost on Saturday. Smart cannot afford to lose this game and needs to increase it if he expects to be a factor in the CFP ranking. I hope Doty starts and, although he makes some frustrating mistakes, he will light the Gamecocks for another stunner. South Carolina 24 – Georgia 21 ”

Five numbers to know before South Carolina’s football game against No. 9 Georgia

By Eric Boynton – Spartenberg Herald

“32.1 – this is Georgia’s average yardage in initial returns, which is second only to LSU at the Southeast Conference and third nationally. That is almost 10 yards more than any of the following teams. Special teams can play a big role in this game, with the Bulldogs also leading the league in return and punting coverage. “

“Collyn Taylor: Georgia is good with a defense based on stopping the race, on which South Carolina will depend heavily. The best scenario for South Carolina is to start a freshman, probably without his number 1 target in Shi Smith. Defensively South Carolina is held together like a MacGyver bomb, so it will be difficult to stop a good quick attack in Georgia and a revitalized passing attack by JT Daniels. It will be a difficult battle to clear. Georgia 38, South Carolina 13 ”
