South Carolina Football Coach Shane Beamer he certainly needed to be active on the NCAA Transfer Portal and has already won five players. All five players signed up for the spring semester and will be able to go through spring training, which is tentatively scheduled to start on March 20.
The Gamecocks, coming out of a 2-8 season that led to the dismissal of the former head coach Will Muschamp, lost several important players to transfer. With no depth and game creators in some positions, Beamer turned to the NCAA Transfer Portal for immediate help.
So far – and there are still more transfers that will take place between now and August – the Gamecocks have brought one player on the offensive side of the ball and four on the defense. There is a wide receiver, a defensive defender, a linebacker, a defensive tackle and a top defender.

All are players who reach positions of immediate need and everyone certainly has a chance to work for the immediate playing time.
“You have to be a great player, obviously, but we have to make sure that we are bringing the right people into the building as well,” said Beamer of his five transfers on Tuesday afternoon at a news conference with the media.
“We are very excited about the type of players we sign, but also the type of people we sign. We feel like they can help us right away, all those guys. “
All five players started winter practice on Tuesday with the rest of the team.
