Kel Fichtner with Cheer Sport Sharks released the following statement below.
“At Cheer Sport Sharks, we have followed a strict protocol for the past 12 months involving temperature checks on the door, mask policies, social distance policies, frequent cleaning of the entire gym, reduction of athletes inside the gym and we continue to send monthly reminders to our families in our policies and procedures. With this protocol, we have not had any positive cases of COVID, until recent occurrences.
In my 25 years as a cheerleader and owner of a cheerleading academy, I have never put anything other than the health and well-being of my athletes in the first place. Neither me nor any staff member or parents intentionally allowed a known positive case from Covid to use our facilities. Anything upside down is extremely disheartening to hear.
