This week, when promoting his next biopic Lifetime, Wendy Williams made an impressive confession about an R&B singer she claims to have sexually abused her early in her career.

But perhaps one of the most unexpected revelations is Williams’ never-before-told story of a rape in an encounter she claims to have occurred while she was spending time with the R&B singer Sherrick, an artist from the 1980s.

On Tuesday, during a panel promoting the biographical film, the 56-year-old talk show host explained that she met Sherrick during an interview.

“He mesmerized me with his sparkling eyes,” she told reporters. “He turned the interview over to where he was interviewing me – I was just crazy about this man and he invited me to an opening party, an album launch party, with him that night.”

“And before the party, I was raped by him,” she continued, adding that she had also been raped by him when he was in college.

“That kind of thing happens to girls all the time,” noted Williams. “And they have been happening a lot, with many of our mothers, grandmothers, great-grandparents and their great-great-grandparents too.”

Wendy Williams: the film stars Ciera Payton like Williams, with Morocco Omari playing Williams’s ex-husband Hunter, whom she split up in 2019 after twenty years of marriage due to him having a child with his lover.

Despite the end of the wedding, which made headlines, Williams told reporters he still “does not regret” the years he spent with his ex-husband.

“The life I am living now is my best life and it is not my fault to say that,” she said. “I don’t regret meeting Kevin, I don’t regret falling in love, I don’t regret having been with him for 25 years, 21 of them married.”

“I like who I am, so I don’t regret it,” he concluded.
