“Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure that Dr. Seuss Enterprises’ catalog represents and supports all communities and families,” said the organization.
Fox News spent much of the day ridiculing the “cancellation culture”, despite the fact that the company made the decision on its own and most of the dear author’s books will remain in circulation.
Progressive surveillance group Media Matters counted 85 mentions of Seuss on Fox News at 4 pm:
I count 85 mentions of “Seuss” on Fox News today from 4 pm via caption. They covered their supposed cancellation every hour since 4 am, saying his name an average of 7 times an hour. https://t.co/lBUXE2WNGp

Just a normal day watching the news. I’m sure this isn’t doing my brain any harm. Cool cool. I love to receive my news. pic.twitter.com/RgZOYZDd0u

And it has not decreased since then. Dr. Seuss was also introduced during the night, when Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson dedicated parts of their programs to the subject.
Critics of Fox News on social media could not understand how much time the network devoted to the story – and regretted all the news that did not get as much coverage as a result:
Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) is facing another credible allegation of sexual harassment.
In DC, a rising star in the Republican Party is facing a similar assessment – but Fox News prefers to ask him about … Dr. Seuss? pic.twitter.com/wPySdNYNTp

If they couldn’t talk about Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head, what would be @ Fox News talk about?
– Joe Walsh (@WalshFreedom) March 2, 2021
This is great news. Now we just need a mass information campaign for white Republicans to accept it and we can all get our lives back. It’s a shame that Fox News can’t help but they seem quite overwhelmed by telling crucial stories about Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head. https://t.co/QQf5DOuzyu

I think Fox News should pay royalties for all the miles they are earning from Dr. Seuss.

Fox News is losing his mind with Dr. Seuss … as if someone who watches or works for that network has already read a book .. pic.twitter.com/Ke6D1R6649

Seriously, Fox News, you can’t have it both ways on the urgent issue of bond inflation in the medical field.
Either Dr. Jill Biden and Seuss are taken into consideration or America has not been canceled and both are revered for their cultural contributions. Choose a track. https://t.co/G9ukARbsEh

Oh, you didn’t think Tucker was going to jump into Dr. Seuss’ Great Culture War tonight, did you?
