Weekend update ‘SNL’ mocks Biden coronavirus stimulation plans

The coronavirus stimulation plans proposed by President Joe Biden did not go unnoticed by “Saturday Night Live”.

The NBC sketch comedy program scoffed at the president’s statements that he is willing to circumvent Republican support to offer monetary relief to Americans who were hurt by the pandemic with a joke about their previous personal space scandals.

“President Biden said on Friday that he would move forward with his $ 1.9 trillion stimulus plan with or without Republican support, because this economy needs a massage and Joe Biden is not waiting for permission,” he said. Colin Jost from “SNL” during the weekend update show of the simulated news program.

Jost did not give up on the new president during the draft and continued his joke with an excavation into Biden’s confusion of memory with a reference to Sunday’s Super Bowl.

“An interview with Biden goes on air between the Bucs and the Chiefs, and incidentally ‘buc’ and ‘boss’ is what Biden calls his friends when he forgets their names,” joked Jost.

The show’s comic strikes against Biden come a week after critics said the TV show was afraid to joke about the president.

Later, in the scripted program, Jost targeted former President Donald Trump and the Senate’s second impeachment trial against him, where members of Congress alleged that Trump incited the attack on the United States Capitol on January 6.

“Former social media influencer Donald Trump, he will not testify at his impeachment trial next week,” began Jost. “And I think I speak for all of us when I say, ‘Come on, please. Give us one last show, man. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, put on your extensions and come on trial as if it were Maury Povich and you are not the father. ‘”

Jost further added that Trump can “scream” all the things he saved for tweets, but has been unable to share since the social media platform made the controversial decision to permanently suspend his Twitter account.

“Unfortunately, Trump will not do that, but he will be defended by lawyers who refused to sue Bill Cosby and who agreed to represent Jeffrey Epstein before his death,” said Jost. “Which begs the question, what does Trump think he’s being accused of?”
