We have no idea who the ‘huge’ AEW hiring will be

AEW promised a big subscription with the Revolution live promotion on pay-per-view tomorrow night (Sunday, March 7, 2021) and we are all wondering who it could be. My main man, Sean, wants to think he’s a Christian, and he can be right. When we started talking about it in the Cageside offices – which is actually just our Slack channel – however, it was clear that none of us really know what the hell is going to happen.

I liked the discussion we had, so I thought about cutting it out and putting it here so that the rest of you can enjoy it too. I’m not even going to edit it and instead present it as the fluent conversation it was.

kfd2010: Good stuff in this Christian post, Sean

Get me excited can be him

Which means it’s your fault when I’m disappointed tomorrow

rude: yes, I am worried about having worked alone

kfd2010: I honestly would say that the chances are that it is not him

Cainaknight: I didn’t realize that Raj Giri issued a correction for the Christian rumor. I would say that makes Christian a more likely choice than most

kfd2010: I don’t think he would waste the chance to join Edge again after they both thought their careers were over almost a decade ago

Geno: when I heard everything they were saying, they put so much emphasis on the words “big” and “huge” that I assumed it was a setup for a real big man

kfd2010: Lars

Geno: that would fit

Cainaknight: it all depends on the money

Geno: to know that people would think that a huge star is tall, but they meant big as physically

Cainaknight: if the money is big and huge, Christian should definitely do it, damn it Edge

rude: “actually he’s not under contract” and the fact that WWE didn’t use it is what makes me think it could be him

kfd2010: Yes, it could be that he was being humiliated as Show was

Yes, it is strange that he did not show it, although they would probably be waiting after Fastlane if a story (like a match with Big E) needs to end

rude: I also think that, despite what he says, he has a chip on his shoulder about the fact that Vince doesn’t see him as a Hall of Fame (or, in the past, worthy of a WWE title race)

what propelled the leap to TNA would also take a leap to AEW now

kfd2010: I can see it

rude: I don’t see what a “big guy” could be

Cainaknight: The great Khali

kfd2010: Brock is the only one who would fit big and is absolutely not him

Geno: Kane

rude: it will not be Khali, because it is linked to India’s momentum

Geno: lol

kfd2010: I had a friend who mentioned Kane, but as he works full time protecting our freedoms against masks, I don’t see what he does for them

He gets a sweet “unique”-looking contract with WWE and can say “I’m donating to charity”

rude: it could be Brock, but then you don’t need size as an excuse to use the big word

kfd2010: We will be sooo disappointed tomorrow

Cainaknight: Maybe Christian is the big star, and Kurt Angle is just the ladder guy

rude: he has a mercenary streak where, if Khan paid, I could see him doing it to teach Vince not to bargain with him

I think the guy at the ladder game will be a guy at the Zack Ryder level

kfd2010: Yes, that makes sense. Someone who is at that level of FA right now?

I think all the names released have already signed with Impact

rude: Honestly, I don’t know who the “big star” is, other than that I became convinced of Jay Reso

kfd2010: I mean, with talent sharing, I think it could just be Ryder

Cainaknight: Jericho was getting attention this week for claiming that WWE doesn’t respect legends enough. This could easily be an idea out there, and given Sting’s star treatment for comments and things like Tully Blanchard’s highlight, it might be a narrative that makes AEW more attractive to some of these people like Christian, Angle, etc. And big money guaranteed, of course.

I think Angle would love to go in there and do something better than Corbin’s departure for his goodbye

rude: RVD and Davey Boy Smith Jr are also possibilities for both, I think

kfd2010: I think Angle is a great possibility

Smith would be a good choice of ladder match

Because he made it clear that he didn’t like his final race in WWE

rude: yes, Angle brings up Corbin’s story very often so he doesn’t get upset about it

kfd2010: A unique title rivalry with someone like Omega, where he loses

As I said, we don’t really know what the hell is going on.

We will all find out together tomorrow night!
