Last year, OnePlus gave a big boost to gain some share in the mid-market with the launch of OnePlus Nord, which was quickly followed by Nord N10 and Nord N100. Now it looks like a new Nord is on the horizon.
The prolific leaker @OnLeaks has posted images of what is apparently the successor to the OnePlus Nord N10 5G, so it looks like this will approach the most accessible end of the middle spectrum.
The device apparently has the code name Ebba, but it is not clear how it will be sold. The N11? The N20? Previous rumors suggest that the OnePlus can really go backwards in terms of numbering and call this phone the OnePlus Nord N1.
Whatever it ends up being called, don’t expect too many changes from last year’s N10. One of the biggest changes seems to be the repositioning of the fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone to the on / off button on the side.
Otherwise, it looks like we’re going to have more of the same: a shiny plastic back panel with a metal frame on the sides, a 6.49-inch screen and a single hole in the front of the phone to house the selfie camera.
The dimensions of the new phone are similar to those of the OnePlus Nord N10 5G, although the successor is apparently a little shorter and thinner. The headphone connector is attached, but it looks like one of the rear camera lenses may have fallen out.
As you can see in the screenshots above, it doesn’t seem like much will change in terms of the device’s aesthetics, although there will likely be internal updates to update the phone to 2021.
The N10 phone made its debut in October 2020, so it may be a while before we see this year’s version. In the meantime, a OnePlus Nord 2 should also be in development, and we know that we will see the OnePlus 9 series on March 23.
