Wayne’s World is coming back as a Super Bowl ad

People don’t really like to talk about it, but the ads are such a big part of the Super Bowl that some people will actually watch it just to see some very expensive commercials. Some pillars of the Big Game are doing things to small differently this year, but at least one reliable Super Bowl ad – the false restart of something beloved in pop culture, but actually a commercial – is apparently still in use. This year, the reboot that is actually a commercial will come in the form of a Wayne’s World revival, complete with Mike Myers and Dana Carvey wearing the old costumes and making the old jokes. However, instead of making fun of product placement as they did in the movie, they are just telling you to watch the Super Bowl, because they will be in an ad for an unnamed food delivery service.

It’s a strange turn to the universe Wayne’s World show, but hey, Wayne and Garth are fun characters and life in 2021 is scary, so it’s good to look back on the days when Wayne’s World it was one thing. Party time. Great. And so on. But yes, the Super Bowl is next week, and there will be some kind of announcement with Wayne and Garth talking about … an unnamed service that will pick up food in restaurants and deliver it to you. Maybe Robe Lowe and Aunt Carrere are there, maybe Kurt Fuller will show up, we don’t know. We just know that you don’t necessarily need to support companies with 10 unique points in the “controversies” section of their Wikipedia page and six more points in the “critical” section. Or maybe you want to, we don’t care. Do whatever it takes to get through the day.
