Wax figures Madame Tussauds by Jon Hamm and Audrey Hepburn Reserved for the NY Steak House

Daniel Turtel of Peter Luger said his team thought “this would be a fun and safe way to fill some of the seats that need to remain empty as we continue to fight the pandemic”.

As of this weekend, New York City restaurants can open for indoor dining, with a 35% occupancy limit. One of the city’s iconic restaurants, Peter Luger Steak House, has found a way to fill some of the empty space without sacrificing security in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic thanks to Madame Tussauds.

The steakhouse has joined the wax museum to reserve extra seats and areas around restaurants with recognizable figures: Jon Hamm will be waiting at the bar, Audrey Hepburn will be holding a table, Jimmy Fallon will be mixing it up with a smile, Michael Strahan will be seated and greet guests, while Al Roker will help direct customers to the second floor.

“The restaurant industry is vital to New York City’s economy and was particularly hard hit last year,” said Peter Luger vp Daniel Turtel. “We are excited to welcome customers back home with 35 percent and we think this would be a fun and safe way to fill some of the places that need to remain empty as we continue to fight the pandemic.”

The wax figures of New York City icons will remain at Peter Luger Steak House until March 1. The Brooklyn-based restaurant has a second location in Great Neck, Long Island and an international location in Tokyo scheduled to open later this year. Madame Tussauds New York is also open for services, with tickets at special prices of $ 29.99 for “locals” who wish to explore.
