Watch Tom Clancy’s Unapologetic trailer starring Michael B. Jordan

Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Belief) will assume the role of US Navy SEAL John Clark in adapting Amazon for the Tom Clancy film Without remorse. Clark is the future commander of Rainbow, the secret multinational anti-terrorist unit that is central to Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six video game series, and Without remorse serves as an origin story for Clancy’s enduring action hero.

Without remorse is based on the 1993 eponymous novel and tells the story of John Kelly – the character’s original name – who discovers an international conspiracy on a revenge-driven mission. John Clark was instrumental in monitoring Without remorse, 1998 Rainbow Six, and appeared in dozens of Clancy’s novels, TV shows, and games. The character has already been portrayed by actors Willem Dafoe in Clear and present danger and Liev Schreiber in The sum of all Fears.

Here is the official synopsis of Amazon’s history for Without remorse:

When a squad of Russian soldiers kills their family in retaliation for their role in a top-secret operation, Chief John Kelly (Michael B. Jordan) pursues the killers at all costs. Joining forces with a fellow SEAL (Jodie Turner-Smith) and a shadowy CIA agent (Jamie Bell), Kelly’s mission unwittingly exposes a secret conspiracy that threatens to engulf the United States and Russia in total war. Torn between personal honor and loyalty to his country, Kelly must fight his enemies without remorse if he hopes to avert disaster and reveal the powerful figures behind the conspiracy.

Without remorse is directed by Stefano Sollima, who directed HBO’s Gomorrah and Sicario: Day of the Soldier. (Sollima has also appeared in a Call of Duty movie.) Tom Clancy’s action thriller hits Amazon Prime Video on April 30.
