Tiger Woods documentary: runtime, spoilers, what to expect
Tiger it is classified as TV-MA with an execution time of 1 hour and 30 minutes. According to the official description of HBO, the series “paints an intimate portrait of the prodigy whose dedication and obsession with the game of golf has not only elevated his fame and success to new heights, but also along a dark, spiraling road.”
The series is produced by HBO Sports and the same team behind the Scientology document, Clean. Woods, who recently joined his 11-year-old son Charlie at the 2020 PNC Championships, was not involved in the production of his documentary for HBO and would have declined an invitation from producers to participate in interviews.
The doc includes interviews with people in Tiger’s inner circle, including his former caddy, Steve Williams; golf legend Sir Nick Faldo; biographer, Pete McDaniel; and Rachel Uchitel, the woman at the center of the sex scandal that led to the breakup of Woods’ marriage and his subsequent break with sport.
HBO also promises “never before seen footage” of Woods’ childhood and formative years, which have often been hampered by his father’s sometimes domineering influence. Of course, the documentary will also include many of Woods’ most prolific sporting moments, including memorable golf highlights and his celebrated comeback win at the 2019 Masters.
