A French artist screamed when he realized that a shark was swimming below him in the Maldives, according to a Jam Press video shared by the New York Post on Friday.
People shouted at Thibault Garcia, the 30-year-old artist, while the shark swam closer to him, shows the video. Garcia continued to swim in the water despite the screams and looking in the direction of the shark. Garcia screamed when he realized the shark was swimming under him and went out of the water while the shark was still swimming, the video showed. Garcia was on vacation when the encounter with the shark occurred.

The National Institute for Strategic Research (NSRI) advised people in South Africa on June 23 to be careful because of “a large number of sightings and close encounters of white sharks”, the organization tweeted.
