[WATCH] The release date for the third season of ‘Cobra Kai’ has been changed to 2021 – New promotion – Deadline

Cobra Kai’s Johnny is giving us an early Christmas present. Season 3 of Netflix’s sequel to the iconic karate Kid The film franchise is slated to hit the streaming giant one week early January 1st – the perfect way to start the new year.

The new debut date was revealed today via video (see above) with Johnny Lawrence of William Zabka sitting at his computer looking at the Netflix page for Cobra Kai. He sees January 8 as the release date for Season 3. He says, “Nah, a long time” and changes the date to January 1st.

The Official Cobra Kai The Twitter account also announced the news with Johnny writing, “QUIET! I heard all of you complaining about the third season that is taking forever. I called the pawn shop and the guy showed me this Netflix thing. The guy knows his stuff. Now you can do it a week before. Until January 1st, nerds – Johnny Lawrence ”.

As an added bonus, the cast of Cobra Kai will join hosts David Spade, Fortune Feimster and London Hughes at O Netflix Afterparty to talk about all things from season 3 on January 2nd.

Johnny and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) will be accompanied by two characters from karate Kid universe, Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) and Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita), which signals a possible return to Okinawa next season. The 3rd season finds everyone suffering after the violent brawl at school between their dojos, which left Miguel in a precarious condition. While Daniel seeks answers in his past and Johnny seeks redemption, Kreese further manipulates his vulnerable students with his own vision of mastery. The soul of the Valley is at stake, and the destiny of each student and sensei is at stake.

The cast also includes Courtney Henggeler (Amanda LaRusso), Xolo Maridueña (Miguel Diaz), Tanner Buchanan (Robby Keene), Mary Mouser (Samantha LaRusso), Jacob Bertrand (Hawk), Gianni Decenzo (Demetri) with Martin Kove (John Kreese) and Peyton List (Tory).

Cobra Kai is written and executive produced by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg through their production company, Counterbalance Entertainment. Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett are executive producers at Overbrook Entertainment, along with Susan Ekins, in association with Sony Pictures Television. Macchio and Zabka serve as executive co-producers.
