The next round of Verzuz, newcomer to the recent announcement by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland of a new deal with the Triller platform, is upon us.
This time, two arguably legendary musical forces – the Isley Brothers and Earth, Wind & Fire – are clashing at a special event organized by Steve Harvey.
“It’s about to fall,” said brothers Isley, Ronald and Ernie, before the Easter Sunday broadcast. Earth, Wind & Fire, meanwhile, advised those who are tuned in to “make sure you are wearing your best Sunday dress for this one”
Last month, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland announced that Verzuz was acquired by Triller Network, the parent company of the Triller application. The business saw the Verzuz creators joining the Triller Verzuz management team. In a joint statement shared with Complex at the time, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland said the deal marked an “important occasion” for the music business as a whole.
“Having partners at Triller who share our vision, specifically to celebrate and elevate the incredible artists who continue to shape culture around the world and give consumers more direct access, is a game changer,” said the two.
Also in March, the Verzuz The team announced a new partnership with the fitness brand Peloton, presenting a launch of training sessions with a musical theme. In early April, the Peloton Verzuz experiment launched a new strength training from Adrian Williams.
