Watch Shawn Johnson’s Baby Girl hit the balance bar on her first try

The apple does not fall far from the tree – nor does it fall, bounce and somersault, by the way.

Shawn Johnson revealed his 17-month-old daughter, Drew Hazel East, is pulling the mother a lot. The former professional gymnast shared a video on Friday, March 12, of her son absolutely killing him on the balance beam.

“Babies for the first time on a balance beam,” Shawn missed throughout the video, which showed Drew walking the beam with almost no help from his mother, who followed her with outstretched hands, ready to pick up her daughter if necessary.

The Olympic athlete in training has won parental approval for her debut routine. Her father, Andrew East, was heard behind the camera saying, “That was really good.” Shawn added, “That was a good thing.” Virtually a 10!

In its caption, the Olympic gold medal joked that Drew “went straight to the foam pit” after jumping off the post into the center of the game.

2021 celebrity babies

There is still a lot of time for home gym training to improve your craft. Drew has been working on her baby gymnastics skills since February 2020, when she was just 3 months old. At the time, Shawn helped Drew (aka “Roo”) make his first jump on the beach in Miami.

In January 2021, Shawn revealed that he is raising his family to four. “Here we go again @thefamilyeast #babyeast”, she shared on social media. The pregnant athlete posted a photo of her and Andrew kissing, while cradling her belly.

Later that month, Shawn told E! News that she wanted to be sure that Drew had a brother who was close in age, but they did not expect to become pregnant anytime soon.

“We said we would start trying around a year, thinking it would take at least a year,” recalled Shawn. “So, that was a shock. We didn’t think it was going to happen that fast or we would be dealing with it soon.”

Even though it was surprising, the couple is thrilled to be expecting another child.

“We kind of have the mentality that we are people who love our sleep and love our routine and love to have a little stability in life,” said the 29-year-old. “And we thought, why not stop this and go through everything now, instead of getting comfortable and then going through it again?”

As for little Roo, Shawn recently wrote on Instagram, professing, “She’s going to be the best big sister ever!”
