WATCH: New Gamecocks Perform

South Carolina welcomed the first signers of the Class of 2021 and the transfer portals to the campus. On Wednesday afternoon, the program released a video of new players introducing themselves to the crowd. Players on campus are seated in the team’s meeting room at the operations facility. The video of the signatories who are not yet on campus was also sent for the production of the video.

“It’s a new era, a new coaching staff,” transfers Georgia Tech wide receiver Ahmarean Brown said. “We are all trying to get to know each other to reach the final goal, which is to win games and have fun.”

The notables in the video are defenders Colten Gauthier and Jason Brown. Gauthier was a three-star recruit from Ducula, Georgia (Hebron Christian Academy) who signed in December and enrolled in January. Brown is a transfer from the FCS Saint Francis (Pa.) Level, who also came to Carolina with his teammate EJ Jenkins, a 6 foot-8 wide receiver. Delaware transfer linebacker Darryl “Debo” Williams is also in the video and noticed how much of a family atmosphere he felt from being on campus for a month.

“It’s already a family,” said Williams. “The new coaching staff is allowing us to establish ties, because some of us are new ones coming in and trying to work (upwards). They allowed us to establish ties and it’s been great.”
