Tonight’s “Celebrating America” primetime special, celebrating the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, came to an end with a performance by Katy Perry. His performance was framed by a truly huge display of fireworks that surrounded the Washington Monument while Biden, Harris and their families watched. Naturally, she sang “Firework”. See below.
Tonight’s special artists included Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake with Ant Clemons, Demi Lovato and John Legend. The oath ceremony earlier in the day featured performances by Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Garth Brooks. The day’s events also included a virtual parade that featured a unique meeting presentation of the New Radicals, who sang “You Get What You Give”.
