BTS presented their hit “Dynamite” on a rooftop in Seoul, South Korea, at the 2021 Grammy Awards.
K-pop superstars performed the Be track in synchronized movements under a huge ceiling of floral arrangements and sparkles. The performance ended on the roof, surrounded by Seoul city lights.
After being excluded from the 2020 Grammys, BTS received a nomination this year for Best Pop / Group Performance for “Dynamite”, against Taylor Swift and “Exile” by Bon Iver, Lady Gaga and “Rain on Me” by Ariana Grande , and others. (Gaga and Grande would win the prize at a pre-televised ceremony.)
BTS Dynamite’s performance will always be incredible and iconic. I won’t get tired of watching them play this song over and over again!
They may not have won, but we know in our hearts that they have this prize! We love you @BTS_twt #LightItUpBTS #SetTheNightAlightBTS pic.twitter.com/HSRT8DQJ1f

“The Grammy is definitely the most honorable musical award that assesses an artist’s prominence and musicality,” RM told Jimmy Fallon in The Tonight Show. “Doing a BTS solo performance with our own song and winning a Grammy [is] our ultimate goal and our dream that grew naturally within us. “
BTS appeared at the Grammy Awards last year – joining Lil Nas X on “Old Town Road” alongside Diplo, Billy Ray Cyrus and Mason Ramsey – but this is the first time they have played their own songs. Last month, they played “Dynamite” on MTV Unplugged, as well as the Be tracks “Telepathy”, “Blue & Gray”, “Life Goes On” and a cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You”. “This song gave us comfort,” said Jimin, “so we wanted to prepare this cover to comfort you as well.”
