The state of Mississippi started building a good time for itself last Saturday with a win over instate rival Ole Miss. The Bulldogs moved on and took advantage of that moment with a 69-48 victory over South Carolina on Wednesday night.
DJ Stewart scored 15 points and had five assists to lead State to victory over the Gamecocks. It is MSU’s second victory over South Carolina this year, with the Bulldogs finishing the series of the season.
The state improved to 13-11 overall and 7-8 in the Southeast Conference game. South Carolina dropped to 5-12 overall, with a 3-10 mark in the championship.
After Wednesday’s game, MSU coach Ben Howland met with reporters to review everything. You can watch Howland’s full post-game press conference with the video at the top of this page.
