Washington, William Jackson agree to a three-year $ 42 million deal

Former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback William Jackson has reached an agreement with the Washington Football Team for a three-year, $ 42 million deal, an ESPN source told Adam Schefter.

Jackson, 28, entered 2020 with much to prove after the Bengals chose their fifth-year option, and he responded by defending a lucrative new contract with a season of recovery.

The choice of the first round of 2016 had 11 pass deflections, eight more than its 2019 total, and had a 57.9% completion rate when it was the closest defender, according to the NFL Next Gen. formation , their numbers were even stronger. As the closest defender in these situations, the percentage of correct answers dropped to 56.1%.

Jackson had his breakout season in 2017, when he allowed 10 receptions on 41 targets without touchdowns, an interception and 13 pass deviations when he was the closest defender against outside receivers, according to NFL Next Gen.

He missed the entire debut season with a broken chest muscle after being selected with the 24th overall choice. In his four seasons of action since then, Jackson has had 150 tackles, 3 interceptions, a sack, 41 defended passes and a defensive touchdown.
