Washington Nationals to play doubleheader against Atlanta Braves, eye list moves amid COVID-19 outbreak

The Nationals and Braves will recover the game that was postponed on Monday because of the coronavirus outbreak in Washington, as part of a double game on Wednesday.

Major League Baseball announced the move on Monday, while Nationals players were exercising at Nationals Park.

Four players at Nationals tested positive for COVID-19 and seven others were quarantined after contact tracking determined that they were potentially exposed.

Nacional plans to add infielder Luis Garcia, outfielder Yadiel Hernandez, receiver Tres Barrera, right-handed Kyle McGowin and southpaw to their list of 26 players for Tuesday’s opening season against Braves, according to The Athletic.

Shorts Turner Trea Turner, first baseman Josh Bell and catcher Yan Gomes were not among the players present on Monday’s training, according to several reports.

The 2019 World Series champions have yet to play a game this season. His first series of three games against the New York Mets has been fully postponed. Nacional and Braves will play two games of seven consecutive entries on Wednesday, with the first starting at 12:05 pm ET.
