ORIGINAL STORY: Call of Duty: Warzone’s most powerful weapon is getting a nerf soon.
Raven Software tweeted to say that a balance update is coming “to address concerns” about DMR 14, Type 63, Mac 10 and dual pistols.
Do not worry! We heard from you and a balance update will be released soon to address concerns about the DMR 14, Type 63, Mac 10 and dual pistols. ????

These changes will be exclusive to Warzone, Raven clarified. This point is important because the weapons in question originate from Treyarch’s Cold War Black Ops and were incorporated into the war zone last month.
DMR in particular was identified as problematic. Last week, Eurogamer reported how some in the Call of Duty community felt that DMR made Warzone “impossible to play”.
The DMR is a semi-automatic tactical rifle, with a higher rate of fire and minimum recoil. It is devastating in the long fury, maintaining reliable damage to knock enemies down in the blink of an eye.
The DMR is so powerful that it can eliminate a squad in a matter of seconds, just a few well-placed blasts of fire, causing the kind of damage that other weapons need continuous fire to hit. The DMR also excels at the type of range you want for combat in Warzone – enough distance to catch enemies without them having time to react.
In the meantime, updates to the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone playlists are going on Thursdays. Treyarch revealed the Black Ops Cold War playlist update for January 7:
- Raid + Crossroads Strike 24/7
- Shooting projects
- Dirty Bomb Duos
And Raven revealed the update to the Warzone playlist this Thursday:
Adding:
- Plunder – Quads
- Renaissance Island – Mini Royale Duos, Resurgence Trios
Removing:
- Plunder – Trios of blood money
- Renaissance Island – Mini Royale Quads
No word yet on when Warzone is balancing his weapons.
