Warzone player finds unprecedented Modern Warfare pistol in game • Eurogamer.net

A Call of Duty: Warzone player this week was surprised to find and play with an unprecedented Modern Warfare pistol.

Redditor RestlessGoats uploaded a clip, below, showing the Sykov pistol in Warzone.

I was able to gain access to Sykov’s new unreleased plan using weapon items in Plunder by r / CODWarzone

RestlessGoats said they obtained Sykov’s unreleased plan using the weapon launch field update in Plunder mode. Sykov is not officially in the war zone. It is not a weapon that you can unlock for use in a loadout and, under normal circumstances, it is not part of the current loot table.

Sykov, however, is currently available for use in Modern Warfare through Survival mode (the mode that was, controversially, a PlayStation-exclusive timed launch of the Infinity Ward sniper).

Its availability in Survival mode, but not in Modern Warfare multiplayer mode, has been known for some time – and players have been leveling up in anticipation of its wider release. But this is the first time that we’ve seen it come up on Warzone.

This RestlessGoats blueprint found is fully automatic, which suggests that an automatic firing mode will be available for the weapon when it is properly launched.

In Survival mode, Sykov can be modified to have 80 rounds, become fully automatic and be wielded twice via the Akimbo perk, which is certainly a scary thought for Warzone – if these accessories are transferred in the same way (no let’s forget the horror of the duo Diamattis in December).

Sykov is not the only new owner who hopes to reach Warzone at some point in the near future. The CX-9 submachine gun is another weapon available in Survival mode in Modern Warfare, but so far not released in multiplayer mode.

Players thought that the appearance of Sykov and CX-9 in Modern Warfare Survival mode signaled that new weapons would come into Modern Warfare multiplayer in the near future – despite the game being left behind by Activision in favor of the Cold War Black Ops. Fingers crossed!
