If you need a guy who can go out and find a way to score points regardless of the situation, there aren’t many players better equipped than the Warriors star, Steph Curry.
Curry is the fourth highest scorer in the league in the All-Star range, scoring 29.7 points per game. Steph also tracks all NBA players with 169 points out of 3 so far this season, 23 more than the next closest player.
Athletic interviewed a panel of 30 NBA insiders, including coaches, executives, scouts and former players about who is the league’s top scorer, and Steph came in third.
Former warrior Kevin Durant finished by far first on the list, gaining 20 votes for first place out of 30 possible, and a total of 246 points. His teammate and former Warriors enemy, James Harden, came in second with 166 points in total, including four votes for first place.

Steph obtained three first-place votes for a total of 114 points, with the other shipowners Damian Lillard and Kyrie Irving completing the top five.
It is difficult to argue with the top three, as Durant, Harden and Steph present enormous challenges for any defense. Just a few years ago, we saw how potent the combination of Curry and KD was in the same attack, and after an exchange earlier in the season, the league caught a glimpse of just how dominant a set of Harden and Durant has been with the Brooklyn Nets.
The good news for NBA fans is that four of the top five will be in action on Sunday night at the Atlanta NBA All-Star Game, with Durant being the only exception, as he deals with a sprained thigh.
