Warriors of good and evil meet in new theatrical poster

THE Mortal combat The reboot will be making its way onto screens (big and small) next month, and after that impressive trailer with the red banner, fans now seem to be much more optimistic that the film will do justice to the best-selling video game series.

Now, a new theatrical poster has been released, featuring most of the main heroes and villains gathered for what promises to be a brutally violent tournament. How many of these guys are going to stand for the sequel?

Sub-Zero and Scorpion look great, so let’s hope that their rivalry (very small word, we know) is the main focus of the plot.

In “Mortal Kombat,” MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to being beaten for money, is unaware of his heritage – or because Outworld emperor Shang Tsung sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, a cryomancer from another world, to hunt Cole. Fearing for the safety of his family, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade in the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who carries the same strange dragon that Cole was born with. Soon, he finds himself in the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who carry the mark.

Here, Cole trains with seasoned warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao and the devious mercenary Kano, as he prepares to take on Earth’s greatest champions against Outworld’s enemies in a high-risk battle across the universe. But will Cole be pressed hard enough to unlock his arcanum – the immense power within his soul – in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?

Mortal combat is scheduled for a simultaneous release in theaters and on HBO Max on April 12.
