Warnock designed to defeat Loeffler in Georgia’s second round

Democrat Raphael Warnock is expected to defeat Sen. Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., In one of two crucial Senate rounds in Georgia, according to Fox News’ Decision Desk.

Loeffler encouraged his supporters on Wednesday to “keep fighting,” refusing to grant the election to the Senate run-off, despite his opponent, Democrat Raphael Warnock, claiming victory.

Promising that all legal votes would be counted, Loeffler told supporters that his campaign saw a path to victory.

“Every American, stay in the fight with us,” said Loeffler after midnight, with the votes still being counted. “We will continue to fight for you. It is about protecting the American dream. I will never stop fighting for this country, for the American, for each one of you, so that each Georgian has a voice in Washington.

“I work for you, I owe nothing to anyone there,” she continued. “Let’s do this. God bless you, thank you very much, God bless Georgia and let’s do this. Thank you.”

Warnock appeared shortly after Loeffler and declared victory.

“Georgia I am honored by the faith you showed in me and I promise you tonight, I am going to the Senate to work across Georgia,” said Warnock. “No matter who you vote for in this election, at this point in American history, Washington has a choice to make, in fact, we all have a choice to make.”

Georgia’s second runoff – between current US Senator David Perdue, a Republican, and challenger Democrat Jon Ossoff, was also close to being announced on Wednesday.
