CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – After a beautiful day with temperatures close to 70 degrees, temperatures will drop to 40 degrees tonight in Lowcountry. The casualties at night will be in their 40s. A weak cold front will move through the area overnight, bringing temperatures to a few degrees on Tuesday. A south wind will begin to develop on Wednesday and this will signal changes in our path as we head towards New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Irregular rain is possible on Wednesday, with a better chance of sparse rain on New Year’s Eve, as temperatures reach low and average levels 70. A cold front will pass through the southeast on New Year’s Day, bringing a good chance of rain and mild temperatures. This front may stop near the coast this weekend, keeping the chance of showers in the forecast. We’ll keep you updated!
