War zone players create their own nuclear from vehicles • Eurogamer.net

Call of Duty: Warzone has been triggering a nuclear explosion for quite some time, and although rumors that the destruction of Verdansk are imminent, it seems that some players have decided to do things on their own: making their own car bombs. And yes, it broke the server, what did you expect?

Call of Duty War Zone: PS5 vs Xbox X Series / S Series – Backward compatibility clash + 120 fps analysis

The experiment was conducted by streamer MarleyThirteen, who recruited 149 followers to join him in a Warzone game to create the “biggest explosion that Verdansk has ever seen” (thanks, VGC). The players agreed to a ceasefire and were tasked with finding as many vehicles as possible, with MarleyThirteen’s team contracting reconnaissance contracts to show the next rings and the location of “ground zero”. Players were also instructed to take as much money as possible – and use all that money to buy a bunch of cluster attacks.

The group didn’t exactly get it right the first time, or even the second: on the first attempt, a player accidentally used his grouping attack too early, while on the second the players entered the pile of vehicles so fast that it caused damage and mini-explosions, creating a chain reaction instead of a big fireball. The third time is charm, as they say, and with a little bit of careful direction and queues under the direction of MarleyThirteen, the group managed to get the desired explosion. Unsurprisingly, it crashed the server, as the game was unable to process all those cluster attacks and burning vehicles.

It may not be exactly the glamorous nuclear end-of-season event that players envisioned – but I think it’s close enough.
