The next major update for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, Season 2 Reloaded, is on the horizon. Here’s everything we know about the mid-season update.

Season 2 brought a plethora of new content for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. New maps, weapons and operators arrived in Call of Duty, and zombies began to invade Verdansk and the Ural Mountains.

However, there are many features of the official script that have not yet arrived in the game. These weapons, operators and maps are more likely to arrive in the mid-season update.

Here’s everything we know about the next big update for Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.

Warzone x Cold War second season script

War zone and cold war season 2: reloaded release date

Activision has not released an official release date for the mid-season update of Warzone x Cold War, however, teasers posted by Treyarch on March 22 give us a likely date.

As discussed later in this article, Treyarch is teasing a new map that arrives in Cold War zombie outbreak mode. Treyarch tweeted: “Next week, new Dark Aether mysteries await …”

This makes it highly likely that Warzone x Black Ops Cold War Season 2 Reloaded will be released in the week of March 29. Updates generally fall on a Thursday, so the most likely release date is April 1, 2021.

New maps coming to the Cold War Black Ops

There are several new maps yet to arrive in Black Ops Cold War that have been confirmed for season 2.

Continuing with the success of Modern Warfare’s Gunfight mode, a new upcoming map is set to arrive in the mid-season update. Mansion Players will be opponents in competitive 2v2 matches due to, you guessed it, a mansion.

Golova Black Ops Cold War

Furthermore, Golova, which players experienced in Outbreak, will arrive in multiplayer mode. It is not known whether this scenic location in the Ural Mountains will be restricted to Fireteam or a smaller 6v6 version will also come.

An update of one of the most controversial maps of the Cold War will also come, with Miami Strike. This new version of the map aims to correct some of the players’ biggest problems with the map – the size and the night color palette. This condensed version of Miami will be played during the day, which will allow for faster action in 6v6 modes.

New weapons from the second season of the war zone and the cold war

A total of six new weapons have been set to arrive in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone over the course of Season 2. Before the mid-season update, four were added to the game: LC10, FARA 83, Machete and E-Tool. This leaves the Shadowhunter R1 beast and the ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle.

The Shadowhunter R1 crossbow will be added to the game on March 25, so that only the new Sniper Rifle remains for the mid-season update.

We don’t know much about the ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle, but as it is the last weapon not launched, it is very likely that it will arrive with the mid-season update.

New content from Zombies from the Cold War and the War Zone

Since the start of Season 2, the undead have begun to invade the Fireteam and Warzone map. Season 2’s new Zombies mode, Outbreak, is set to have a new map entering the rotation after Season 2 Reloaded.

Treyarch tweeted on March 20 that “The epidemic zone is about to get even bigger”. In the clip provided, we can see the area of the Sanatorium of the Serra dos Urais.

The leaked Plague game mode, configured to detonate Verdansk, may also come during this update. Although the Zombies are slowly advancing from place to place, it seems that they will soon invade Verdansk and it will be up to players to eliminate them. This mode is set to end with the announcer shouting: “Extraction canceled, nuclear entry to Verdansk”.

New war zone and cold war operators

There are two operators still to be launched in the second season of Warzone. The official script for the 2nd season reveals that four new operators will come over the course of the season. We’ve already seen Naga and Samantha Maxis, but Rivas and Wolf are yet to arrive.

We saw these Operators for the first time in the Season 2 trailer, but they’re more likely to arrive as part of the mid-season update. There is no word on how they are unlocked, but it will most likely be through challenges or as packages in the store.
