Wanted man surrenders to escape from roommates in COVID isolation

Yesterday, a guy entered the Burgess Hill Police Station in Sussex, England, and turned himself in to the police. The man was wanted in a “prison recall”, meaning that the person was released from prison on probation or other conditions, but must return to serve the rest of the sentence. The recall may be due to breach of probation terms or the expectation that they may commit more crimes.

In this case, according to the police, the man decided that “he would rather go back to prison than have to spend more time with the people he lived with”.

He was looking for “peace and quiet,” police inspector Darren Taylor reports in a tweet.
